Pre-Appointment Checklist
Ensure you are prepared for your appointment to receive the best possible results.
Shower and cleanse your face before your appointment
It is important to arrive to your appointment with clean, oil and makeup free lashes. In addition, you must not wet your lashes for 24 hours after your appointment, so showering before your appointment is advised.
No caffeine
It is suggested not to ingest caffeine 4 hours before your lash appointment. However, if you are sensitive to caffeine, I suggest avoiding it altogether on the day of your appointment. Caffeine can make your eyes twitch when you are trying to keep them shut, which makes it harder to apply lashes and increases your risk of getting glue fumes in your eyes. Plus, it will be easier to relax and enjoy the appointment!
Avoid jewelry that might get in the way
Dangly earrings or long necklaces may be uncomfortable during the application process. Avoid wearing jewelry to your appointment, or remove it before we begin.
Wear something comfortable
You can expect to be laying on the table with your eyes closed for anywhere from 1.5-3 hours(depending on your service). I provide pillows and blankets, but make sure you are wearing something comfortable for the most relaxing experience.
No contact lenses
As mentioned, you will be laying with your eyes closed for a long period of time. To avoid irritation, make sure you remove your contacts prior to the appointment beginning, or choose to wear glasses to the appointment.
Don’t curl your lashes
In order for you to receive the best results, your lashes need to be as natural as possible.
Cell phone off
I sound like a broken record, but while you’re in my lash studio, I want you to relax! Let your people know you are going to be in an appointment, and silence that phone!
No makeup/face creams
Avoid wearing any makeup(especially mascara) the day of your appointment(and avoid waterproof makeup for 2-3 days before). Makeup residue can cause poor lash retention, and time spent cleaning makeup from the lashes takes away from lash application time. Additionally, be cautious of face creams and products that contain oils. Oils break down lash adhesive, which will also cause issues with retention.
No strip lash glue
If you are someone who wears strip lashes, I advise not wearing them for 24-48 hours before your appointment to ensure no glue residue is left on your lash line. Be sure to remove any glue residue before your appointment.
Arrive 10-15 minutes early
Especially if it is your first time in my studio, as you will have to fill out a client release form. Use this time to get comfortable, use the washroom, ask questions, etc.
